Default OpenCart admin statistics stop at basic sales reports — no cohort analysis, no traffic-source breakdown, no view into how customers actually behave in the store. This category connects the store to external analytics systems or adds custom reports that aren't there out of the box.
What's in this category
Google Analytics 4 and other web-analytics integrations that pass e-commerce events (product views, add-to-cart, purchases). UTM tracking — automatically capturing traffic sources and tying them to orders. Internal reports on products, categories, and customers that aren't in the default admin. Heatmaps and on-page visitor-behavior tracking tools.
How to choose
If the goal is accurate GA4 data, check the module supports full Enhanced Ecommerce events, not just basic pageviews. For tracing traffic sources through to an order, a UTM module is simpler and doesn't require setting up external services. Treat internal reports separately from external analytics: they're faster to check (no need to open GA4), but their depth is limited to what OpenCart's own database stores.
