Once the store stops being the only place where stock is tracked, data has to be synchronized: stock and prices from the ERP into OpenCart, orders from OpenCart into the CRM and accounting. Data exchange modules do this through APIs, in both directions and on a schedule, so nobody re-enters orders by hand.

What to look for
Direction: many modules push data one way while you probably need both. Product matching by SKU, barcode or internal ID — this decides whether the two databases drift apart after the first renamed product. Conflict handling: what happens if a price changed in the ERP and in the store at the same time. And the usual OpenCart version and server requirements — ERP integrations often need a counterpart module on the ERP side.
