SP Subcategories FREE

The SP Subcategories module allows you to flexibly expand the list of subcategories in OpenCart: display any existing store categories, as well as add custom links with your own images and multi-language support.

Standard OpenCart functionality limits the display of subcategories to only those strictly linked to the parent category in the catalog structure. The SP Subcategories module removes this limitation, allowing you to build navigation and internal linking exactly as needed for SEO and customer convenience. You can mix standard subcategories with custom links (e.g., to filter pages, landing pages, promotions, or articles), and they will look completely identical visually.

Main Features:

• Link Any Categories: Easy selection of already existing store categories using checkboxes in the admin panel. They will be pulled into the subcategory list automatically.
• Manual Addition: Create absolutely any custom links to be displayed in the general subcategory grid.
• Images for Links: Each manually added link can be assigned its own image or icon via the standard system file manager (with thumbnail generation support).
• Full Multi-Language Support: Names and URLs for custom links are set separately for each language. The module will automatically detect the current locale and output the correct data.
• Flexible Positioning: Display order configuration. Added elements can be displayed either before standard OpenCart subcategories or after them (controlled by a setting). Custom links also have their own sort order.

The module is perfectly suited for creating visual tags, "popular picks" menus within categories, and building a non-standard catalog architecture without duplicating entities in the database.
