Advanced Rewards & Cashback for OpenCart
Advanced Rewards & Cashback is a professional loyalty module for OpenCart 2.3 and 3.x. It helps encourage repeat purchases, increase average order value, and bring customers back with reward points, cashback, referral rewards, and personalized bonuses.
The extension can use OpenCart's standard reward point system or automatically calculate cashback from the cart total. All key rules—from earning methods to reward expiration and notification channels—can be configured in the admin panel.
Two operating modes
Standard OpenCart reward points
- full compatibility with OpenCart's built-in reward point system;
- automatic point accrual and deduction based on order status;
- preserves the standard OpenCart reward logic;
- controls reward point reversal when an order status changes.
Cashback based on cart total
- earn a fixed percentage of the cart total;
- multipliers for categories, manufacturers, and customer groups;
- minimum and maximum qualifying order totals;
- reward adjustments based on shipping and payment methods;
- support for product options that increase or decrease the price;
- restrictions for special-price products, coupons, and gift vouchers.
Reward customers for
- completed purchases;
- creating an account;
- subscribing to the newsletter;
- reviews after moderation;
- birthdays, once per calendar year;
- participating in the referral program.
Referral program
- separate configurable rewards for the referrer and the invited customer;
- award points immediately after registration or after the invited customer's first completed order;
- a personal referral link in the customer's account;
- referral reward tracking in the customer's FIFO analytics.
Reward expiration and automation
- delay reward crediting by a configurable number of days;
- set a custom reward validity period;
- automatically expire outdated points;
- notify customers before their rewards expire;
- FIFO tracking of reward batches with accrual, warning, and expiration dates;
- CRON support for automatic accrual, expiration, and notifications;
- ready-to-copy recurring CRON URLs and a crontab command.
Email, SMS, and Viber notifications
- enable Email, SMS, and Viber independently;
- use global statuses and an individual status for each message template;
- templates for registration, subscriptions, reviews, orders, birthdays, expiration warnings, point deductions, and manager operations;
- optionally check the customer's marketing consent separately for Email, SMS, Viber, or all channels;
- send SMS and Viber messages through TurboSMS, AlphaSMS, and SMSFly;
- eSputnik integration for Email, SMS, and Viber, with data passed to template macros;
- notification service errors do not interrupt reward accrual or deduction.
Flexible redemption rules
- allow or prevent reward point use for selected categories and manufacturers;
- set the maximum number of points that each customer group can redeem in the cart;
- completely disable point redemption for selected customer groups;
- automatically remove applied points if the updated cart contains only products that do not allow reward redemption;
- support for the main category feature in ocStore;
- bulk editing of category and manufacturer reward values and multipliers.
Reward manager and analytics
- bulk credit, deduct, or reset points for selected customers;
- remove all customer reward points;
- send dedicated notifications for manager operations;
- reward point accrual and deduction reports;
- FIFO analytics on the customer edit page, including discrepancy diagnostics;
- admin user group access control.
Display rewards in product listings
The extension can show available rewards directly in product cards on category, manufacturer, search, and special offer pages. It also supports the standard Bestseller, Latest, Special, and Featured modules.
Please note: reward display in product listings is adapted for the standard Default theme. Third-party themes and custom modules may require additional paid integration.

Installation
- Install the extension through the OpenCart admin panel.
- Refresh modifications.
- Grant the required permissions to admin user groups.

- Enable Reward Points under Order Totals.
- Configure CRON using the instructions provided in the extension.
Important
- automatic reward accrual works only while the extension is enabled;
- order rewards are credited after the order reaches a configured completed status;
- category and manufacturer rules are applied according to the selected settings;
- CRON is recommended for reliable automatic processing.

- - Order cancellation returns spent points and deducts accrued ones exactly once, including on repeated cancellation and subsequent CRON run.
- - Enhanced protection of parallel FIFO processing, reviews and referrals; new accruals correctly cover existing negative balance.
- - Fixed tax calculation with points discount, customer group rules for order, bonus expiration day limits and processing of orders with zero accrual amount.
- - Bonus logic, FIFO, referrals, birthdays, product calculation, CRON and notifications moved to a shared system library, which is directly used by administrative and client parts.
- - Removed duplicates of business methods in administrative and client models, as well as a copy of the catalog model.
